The most popular DBD game mode returns and ramps up the chaos

THE Dead by daylight The community knew changes were coming for the upcoming revamped 2v8 mode, but now developer Behavior Interactive has lifted the lid and shown exactly what fans can expect. In a recent developer update post, Behavior details new killers, classes, maps, mechanics, and more – all of which promise to shake up the mode from its already chaotic previous incarnation.

The update you’ll probably notice first when switching to this mode are these three new Dead by daylight Killers are now available for selection. The Spirit, Deathslinger, and The Blight will all be there, teaming up to give the survivors a really bad time. It is The Blight which will undoubtedly be the most popular choice of the horror game this time. He will also be the most chaotic, as his charge ability is faster and easier to direct, but more importantly, it allows you to bounce off the other killer.

On top of that, The Hillbilly gets a buff as his charged chainsaw attack now takes down survivors like it does in the main game, trap auras are visible to The Trapper’s teammate and The Wraith will break things up much faster than before. On the other hand, The Huntress and The Nurse received slight nerfs, which is fair since they were quite powerful in the previous iteration of the mode.

Mechanically, 2v8 mode won’t work exactly like before either. Previously, killers would stomp on a survivor to send them into a cage. Now this will happen when the survivor is picked up, opening up the possibility of flashlight saves. Generators will also speed up as survivors are placed in cages, and conversely slow down when the generators are finished. This means that if the survivors are doing well, it will be slower to create generators, and conversely, if the killer team destroys the opposition, the generators will fly.

Classes have also been overhauled, with Slayers now having their own selection to choose from. Each has a class ability that provides passive bonuses to teammates as well as an effect they can activate and an information ability that grants aura reading or tracking. Additionally, survivors will also have an unlock ability that they will receive after being placed in a cage.

With a ton of new maps to play on as well as an expanded roster of killers and classes, this upcoming 2v8 mode looks to be far more deadly and chaotic than its predecessor.

Dead by Daylight’s 2v8 mode will return on Tuesday, November 12 and will continue until Tuesday, November 26.. If you want to get a full preview of what’s coming, head over to the announcement job to find out more.
