THE Tennessee Titans there are only a few days left to decide what they want to do before the NFL trade deadline. Many believe they still have a long way to go to sell.

One potential name that could be on the move before the trade deadline Tuesday is linebacker Arden Key.

Key has had a solid season so far with the Titans. He played in all seven games this season, accumulating 17 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a pass defensed.

These numbers show the kind of impact he is capable of having.

Sports Illustrated recently published an article outlining a trade every NFL team should make before the deadline. One of them had the Arizona Cardinals being asked to call Tennessee about Key.

“The Cardinals could create some separation in the division standings if they added a quality edge rusher. Key, 28, remains a productive player while playing for the struggling Titans. He has three sacks this season and has been a standout player for the San Francisco 49ers in 2021, but he got lost playing for the Jaguars and Jacksonville Titans the last three seasons,” they wrote.

At 28 years old, Key could become a piece the Titans keep. However, they should offer him a new contract to keep him. It may not be something they would like to do.

If they don’t see him as an obvious long-term piece for the defensive side of the ball, it would make sense to trade him for some value. In addition to suggesting Key as a trade target for the Cardinals, they also suggested a sixth-round pick could seal the deal.

For Tennessee, it would be important to acquire any draft assets it could obtain. A sixth-round pick can be a deciding factor in moving up in the draft via trades.

Looking ahead, the Titans find themselves in an interesting situation. No one knows if they have a legitimate franchise quarterback, they have a lot of holes on the roster and they will have to find ways to fill those holes this offseason.

Key might not be moved, but he’s worth keeping an eye on. Arizona would certainly make sense as a destination for them as they try to make the playoffs.
