Some Apple Stores will pilot a reduced presence of Vision Pro during the launch of M4 Macs

Tomorrow is Apple’s big launch day for the first Mac M4. And would haveIn sync with this new debut, the company will also begin testing a reduced Vision Pro presence in select Apple Stores.

New Limited Pilot Launches Friday in Apple Stores

Mark Gurman posted on X today about the new driver:

Apple will test reducing Vision Pro’s presence in select retail stores tomorrow as it begins showing off new Macs. Currently, most stores have two AVP tables: 1 for demos, 1 for displays. The pilot will be moved to a single table for demonstrations and display models.

Space inside Apple retail stores is undoubtedly limited, so if Apple can condense its Vision Pro presence, it makes sense to do so.

Currently, the experience for users with a Vision Pro demo generally takes place outside of the “sales floor” where the products are displayed.

It looks like that will change with this new driver. Depending on Apple’s setup, this could potentially lead to a less comfortable experience when demoing the Vision Pro.

It’s unclear how many locations will test this new approach. It’s also very possible that Apple decides not to deploy it everywhere. But I’ll be interested to follow how the company’s approach to Vision Pro evolves in the Apple Store.

What do you think of this new driver? Let us know in the comments.
