He’s back: Donald Trump 2.0.

We are all still grappling with what this means: for the special relationship, for Ukraine, for trade, for climate change.

Trump is the most unpredictable politician.

The usual rules of diplomacy do not apply, which is why, despite the warm words, No. 10 will be worried.

He’s a politician who leads not with his head, or even his heart, but with his instincts, and there’s another reason why this time around I think he’ll be even more unpredictable.

The first time he was president, he was an outsider – but those around him were insiders of the established right.

This time, the new brothers are there: JD Vance, Dana White, Elon Musk.

I’m fascinated by Musk’s relationship with Trump. X – and by extension its owner Musk – has enormous influence over its 500 million users, and even more so because there are also many journalists.

If you spend enough time on it, it’s going to influence what you think a story is and what you think people are talking about.

In fact, the entire media landscape is so different from last time — the podcasts, the YouTube channels, creating an ecosystem of support to amplify Trump’s message.

And remember, Republicans have taken control of the Senate and things look promising in the House of Representatives as well, which is important from a legislative perspective.

We could be about to see Donald Trump go on a rampage.
