Emmerdale fans are sure they have discovered the truth about Ruby Fox-Milligan and her estranged father, Anthony.

Ruby (played by Beth Cordingly) and Caleb (played by William Ash) were left speechless this month when their daughter Steph (Georgia Jay) made an unexpected appearance, more than a decade since they last saw her for the last time.

Stephanie was first raised a few months ago, following the death of Ruby’s mother, Helen (Sharon Maughan). Last week Steph made a surprise visit to the Dales – but it was obvious the main reason Steph was in the village was to claim her inheritance from her late grandmother Helen.

Steph confronted her mother about her terrible childhood, but the situation escalated dramatically when Ruby slapped her, instead of the reconciliation she had hoped for.

Fortunately, the two were able to repair their relationship. However, another family member soon arrived in the Dales: Ruby’s father, Anthony (Nicholas Day), reports Leeds live.

It was obvious that there was a lot of unresolved history between father and daughter – with Ruby adamantly stating that she wanted nothing to do with him. Steph then confronted Anthony, begging him to leave the village, which he did. But on Friday’s (November 22) episode, things took a heartfelt turn.

Steph – who moved in with Caleb and Ruby – tried to persuade her mother to dig through her childhood memory box. Clearly hiding something, Ruby was overcome with emotion after taking a photo of herself at 15, dressed in a school uniform.

Emmerdale enthusiasts have long suspected that Ruby’s story presents a distressing twist. Speculation is rife among fans, with theories circulating about potential abuse within Ruby’s family.

On a Emmerdale In a Facebook group, one user speculated: “Ruby – I see a lot of people speculating that her dad abused her and maybe he’s Steph’s dad – I don’t think so, I think Caleb is the Steph’s father – BUT I think there is possible abuse from his parents that is ignored so maybe an uncle or a brother?

Another viewer suggested a different angle: “My theory is that she was abused by her mother, but her father knew about it. That said, I don’t want an abuse story, so we’ll just have to wait and see. what is the story.

Offering an alternative preference, one fan commented: “I would prefer this story rather than Ruby being abused by her father, that’s too far, that’s the one.” Supporting this view, another person added: “That’s what I said. She definitely told them and they wouldn’t believe her.”
