UWS shooting: Police search for suspect in Central Park after boss shot in leg on New York’s Upper West Side

UPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) — Police are searching for a suspect after authorities say he fatally shot his former boss on the Upper West Side Thursday morning.

The disgruntled former employee was a remote worker and was fired shortly before the shooting around 9:30 a.m.

He confronted his ex-boss at Lincoln Business Machines Inc. on West 68th Street and Columbus Avenue.

The suspect fired at least half a dozen times, hitting the victim twice in the leg and shoulder.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside and is expected to survive.

The search for the suspect caused temporary delays on the Manhattan subway when he fled toward the 72nd Street and Central Park West subway station.

Authorities turned off the power so officers could scour the tracks in case the suspect was hiding in the subway tunnel north of the station.

Some passengers had to be evacuated and trains A/B/C/D were delayed for the investigation.

Additionally, some subway riders said they were asked to lie on the train floor while police searched them. Metro service was restored shortly after 11 a.m.

Investigators believe the suspect may have left the subway through an emergency exit on 76th Street and were searching Central Park Thursday afternoon.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white hat, green jacket, blue hoodie and holding a black gun in his hand.

Filming takes place a week later two people were shot a few blocks away during Halloween party hours.

The investigation into Thursday morning’s shooting continues.
