Star defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers Nick Bosa said wearing a MAGA hat on live TV was worth it, even if the NFL fined him for it.

After a victory against the Dallas Cowboys on October 27, Bosa crashed his teammates’ post-match interview by sneaking up behind them and displaying the MAGA hat on his head. At the press conference later that evening, Bosa declined to elaborate on his decision and simply said: “I think it’s an important moment.” »

Opinions on the decision were divided along party lines, with the right praising it and the left I wonder why Bosa wasn’t told to “shut up and dribble” as were other left-wing athletes.

The NFL prohibits players from wearing clothing with messages not approved by the league; and CBS Sports Insider Jonathan Jones recently reported that the league was looking into the matter.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday – hours later Donald Trump was declared the winner of 2024 elections – Bosa revealed that the fine would not mean much to him.

“I don’t know,” when asked if he thought he would be fined. “I haven’t had one yet; but if it comes, it comes.

Bosa added that he was well aware of the possibility of a fine, but that the public exposure was worth it.

Asked about the motivations for this decision, he again refused to go into details.

“I don’t think my position on this is going to change,” Bosa said. “Clearly the nation has spoken and we got what we got. »
