This unique Jackson Holliday card is very valuable

You may have missed it in April.

When Orioles top prospect Jackson Holliday took the field at Fenway Park early this season to make his big league debut, he did so wearing a small red, white and blue patch with the words “MLB Debut” and the league logo. the right sleeve of his road gray jersey.

This exact patch is now affixed to a limited edition Holliday rookie card that the 20-year-old phenom autographed. And since there was only one patch, the map is the only one that exists.

Holliday is one of more than 150 players to feature an MLB Debut Patch card in this year’s release of Topps Chrome Update, one of the latest baseball card products of the 2024 season and available from Today. The featured group of players debuted from June 1, 2023 to May 24, Topps said in a press release.

Topps began making the patches and cards last season. Because they are so rare and unique, they are highly sought after by collectors. And expensive.

Dave & Adam’s, a sports card store based in Amherst, New York, placed a bounty of $150,000 on the patch card depicting New York Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe in last year’s update set.

If you miss out on Holliday’s six-figure patch card, there are a few other unique deals in the set that are worth seeking out.

There is a double autograph card with Holliday and Billy Ripken, both always linked to the tradition of hobbies after Topps produced some of Holliday’s first rookies in homage to Ripken’s infamous 1989 “F— Face” card.
