“I think it was huge because having two home defeats to Liverpool is not something they have too often,” he said. Daily Football Podcast.


“They have always been such a good team under Jurgen (Klopp), and it is so difficult to get a result at Anfield. But I think Arne Slot started well. And I have to say when he came in I thought it was very difficult to follow Jurgen, it’s a bit like following Sir Alex, a bit like following some of the best managers who have been there for so long. Never easy.

“But I have to say he did a great job, even though it’s pretty much the same group of players they had last year. But they showed a little bit of resilience yesterday coming back, because Brighton also impressed me throughout the season and I started very consistently, I played some really good stuff.

“But you’ll know what it’s like, playing at Anfield is amazing. Once you score a goal the crowd shoots the ball into the net, it really does, there’s a certain atmosphere there.
