DOGE May Deny Federal Aid to States Housing “Criminal Aliens”: MTG

representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) suggested that governors and mayors of states or sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants could “absolutely” be denied federal aid through the work of the Department of Government Effectiveness.

The newly formed DOGE, co-led by billionaires Elon Musk And Vivek Ramaswamyaims to massively reduce public spending, which House Republicans are supposed form a subcommittee to coordinate with the agency. In presenting DOGE’s work, Greene said the agency would look at everything, including “government-funded media programs like NPR” to subsidize programs funding “sex apps in Malaysia.”

“I want to talk to the people at the Pentagon and ask them why they can’t find billions of dollars every year and why they fail their audit,” Greene said on Fox News. Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. “But not only that, Maria, I would like to talk to the governors of the sanctuary states and the mayors of the sanctuary cities and have them appear before our committee and explain why they deserve federal dollars if they want to harbor criminal illegal aliens in their states and their cities.”

Many governors and mayors, including governors. JB Pritzker (D-IL), Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) and the Mayor of Boston Michelle Wu vowed to oppose the president-elect that of Donald Trump proposed mass expulsions of illegal immigrants. When pressed on the possibility that these cities or states will lose federal funding if they continue to host illegal immigrantsGreene said these sanctuary sites using police to protect these immigrants can “absolutely” expect that.

Greene pointed to the murder of University of Georgia student Laken Riley by an illegal immigrant, and said “she would be alive today” if New York had not been a sanctuary state. Jose Ibarrathe 26-year-old Venezuelan migrant who killed Riley was found guilty of intentional murder and felony murder. He was sentenced Wednesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

“The story of Laken Riley is not a unique story, it’s a story that happens to Americans across the country,” Greene said. “Almost every day, an American is murdered by an illegal alien. If these Democratic governors and mayors want to use their federal money and they want to use that funding to harbor criminal illegal aliens, then, yes, we will go after their money, and they don’t deserve a single cent of it.

Last week, Ramaswamy said people can expect “massive cuts” from the federal government with DOGE’s work, with some agencies being “removed altogether.”

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) also said he is “all in” to help DOGE in any way possible. He argued that the combination of Trump, Musk and Ramaswamy constitutes a rare combination that might be able to defeat the “leviathan” that is government waste.
