Kakinada: A total of 12 companies have submitted bids to transport sand from sand ramps to storage points, according to Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema, District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar. He explained that the sand would be loaded manually at the sand mining sites and transported from the sand point to the storage point and then from the storage point to the consumer. Officials will first check that bidders meet five key legal requirements before confirming bids for the 12 stretches of sand. The successful bidders will be responsible for transportation of sand till March 2025. The district-level sand committee will examine all parameters before finalizing the bids.
