The only day ULEZ will be demolished with £12.50 fine canceled | United Kingdom | News

The ULEZ, which operates 24 hours a day in all areas of London, will be scrapped for just one day.

The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is a designated area where strict emissions standards are applied to improve air quality by reducing pollution from vehicles.

The concept was first introduced in London and has since served as a model for similar initiatives in other cities around the world.

Non-compliant vehicles must pay a daily charge of £12.50 for most vehicles and must be paid by midnight, three days after you enter the area.

Larger vehicles like trucks and buses face higher fees.

However, for everyone driving non-compliant vehicles, there is a day when there is no charge and you can drive your vehicle throughout London, reports MyLondon.

The only exception to ULEZ charges is Christmas Day, where no payment is required from midnight to midnight.

However, fees normally resume on Boxing Day.

The congestion charge, which applies to central London, follows a similar timetable during the festive period.

Generally, the congestion charge operates all year round, Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from noon to 6 p.m.

However, during the holiday period, the congestion charge takes a longer break.

It is suspended from Christmas Day to New Year’s Day, offering eight consecutive days free of charge.
