Two teenagers were killed and three people were injured in a shooting over the weekend in Union Springs, authorities said Tuesday.

Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation responded to the 300 block of Waugh Street in Union Springs around 3 a.m. Saturday following a report of a shooting involving several victims.

The SBI is conducting the investigation at the request of the Union Springs Police Department.

Officers said two victims were killed in the incident: Adrian Tarver Benton, 19, of Auburn, died at the scene while Union Springs resident David Benton, 19, died at a hospital local.

Three other people, who have not been publicly identified, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
