Whiteley London unveils $22 million apartment by Joyce Wang Studio

London is home to many high-end residential buildings such as the Whiteley Londonwhich is home to 139 unique mansions for those looking to live lavishly. Last winter the Queensway site, once a popular department store known as Whiteleys, unveiled a 16 million dollar apartment by New York designer Kelly Behun. Now it’s the turn of another pad to hit the market; although this one is made by an award-winning design company Joyce Wang Studio.

The new $22 million digs (delivered by development managers Finchatton with investment partners MARK and CC Land) and sophisticated neighborhoods are thanks to Wang and his team, who are behind the interiors of other luxury properties such as the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, the Berkeley and Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Similar to Behun’s design, this third-floor residence pays homage to the 1911 department store that once stood in its place, featuring a selection of globally sourced goods, as well as its founder, William Whiteley.

Herringbone wooden floors contrast the smooth beige walls of the four-bedroom abode, with double-height ceilings and marble-clad features from the main living room through to the kitchen. The first offers a chic lounge area alongside tall arched doors which open onto a balcony, as well as a dining area which can seat 10 people. London’s La Porta Romana provided the modern wall sconces and chandeliers dotting the space, which illuminate details such as the kitchen’s marble. -island at the top and turquoise green carpet nearby.

Wang’s use of green extends to the master bedroom, where a green suede headboard sits between two nightstands. Black-framed doors here open onto a balcony and nearby, owners can access the master bathroom with a veined stone wall. A sculpted section of the slab above the freestanding bathtub illuminates your favorite toiletries. Elsewhere in the apartment, a living room with a desk and plush seating shares space with a unique art sculpture. Two of the house’s commissioned artworks are by Armando Mesias, while its antiques and rugs come from 1stDibs and CC Tapis of Milan, respectively.
