Sydney Leroux signs new three-year contract with Angel City FC

Angel City Football Club has announced that striker Sydney Leroux has signed a three-year contract extension until 2027.

Leroux, who joined Angel City in 2022 in a trade with the Orlando Pride, has played in 24 games this season scoring seven goals. Her goal total is her highest since 2021, when she scored eight with the Pride.

“This is my last participation and I’m excited to finish my career here,” said Leroux, 34. “My family and I are so excited to continue to be a part of Angel City and I promise to give it my all until the wheels fall off.”

Leroux has 48 career goals, good for eighth on the NWSL all-time goalscoring list.

“The signing of Sydney Leroux is testament to his invaluable impact on and off the field,” said ACFC Technical Director Mark Wilson. “As a seasoned professional and icon of the United States Women’s National Team, Sydney has played a pivotal role in the growth of the league and brought unforgettable moments to our fans during her time in Angel City.

“His goals have fueled some of our most notable performances. We are excited for her to continue her career at Angel City as we continue to lay the foundation for a sustainable and successful team for seasons to come.

Angel City will conclude its NWSL season Friday on the road against the Portland Timbers.
