Chyna Phillips got candid about it unconventional living conditions with her longtime husband, Billy Baldwin.

In a video shared on her faith-based YouTube channel “California Preachin,” Phillips, 56, admitted that she lives in a separate house from Baldwin, 61.

“Billy and I are kind of in this new type of arrangement that really works for me,” she explained. “I don’t know if it works for ‘Billster,’ but I’m very happy with what we’re doing and basically it’s totally unstructured.”

The description of her YouTube video read: “Marriage is a roller coaster, but I think I’ve found a way to get off the ride, without having to actually ‘get off the ride’!!”

The singer referenced her Christian faith and said, “I really thought, ‘Where in the Bible does it say I have to live under the same roof 24/7 with my husband?’

Phillips continued to make a list of gestures she does daily for Baldwin.

“I must take care of him, I must be kind to him, I must be gentle with him, I must obey him…submit.”

She added: “I understand all that… but I will submit when I get there.”

Phillips said she presented the plan to her husband as a “trial run.” She insisted that she would live in Santa Barbara and Baldwin would reside in Beverly Hills, and then they would “turn around.”

She also suggested that time together between the two could include “dates”, leisure activities and family time.

“In between we go on double dates…dates together and we go to therapy…we have dinner with the kids and we go to the beach or we go to the museum…we just go get ice cream.”

Phillips confirmed they would take some time off to have sex and said: “We spend a few days a week together at a time, where we have sleepovers and stuff, but without forcing ourselves to be subjected to the energy on the other 24/7, so I’m very happy I took that chance.”

Although Phillips was happy with the new project and living conditions, she admitted that her husband was “a little more reluctant” about the situation.

Later in the video, Phillips participated in a virtual call with her husband.

“We are madly in love, we truly love being together, we cherish our marriage, we never love each other.” I want to separate ” – we just need some time apart because we’re kind of allergic to each other, and that’s okay – I’m sure a lot of different couples are allergic to each other. “

Phillips and Baldwin married in 1995 and share three adult children together: daughters Jameson, 24, Brooke, 19, and son Vance, 22.

“Chynna…your California Preachin posts always get us in trouble!!” he reacted with a laughing emoji.

“It’s called… We have an empty nest for the first time in decades so I do things and hope Chynna joins me but if she doesn’t want to… that’s cool. Chynna does her thing and if I don’t want to join you…it’s cool and we do our thing together most of the time.

In his lengthy comment, Baldwin concluded, “34 years later…they’re still driving each other crazy and crazy in love. You don’t have to try…Call you tonight, Mom.”

Earlier this year, Phillips said she was walking on “eggshells” with her husband and didn’t want to “trigger” him.

“Billy and I have been working on it the last few days,” Phillips admitted in April.

She continued: “We get on each other’s nerves, which is frustrating, because just when I feel like we’re on a roll and things are starting to improve, we start fighting again – very easily .”

“Billy is my life partner. I mean, he’s the one I want to have the healthiest relationship with. He’s the one I want to be able to talk to when I’m feeling the most vulnerable or the most upset…” , Phillips said.

“But sometimes I don’t. A lot of times I don’t because I don’t want to make waves, or I don’t want to put him in a bad mood, or I walk on eggshells.”

The five-time Grammy nominee explained that she sometimes holds back expressing her feelings to Baldwin because she doesn’t want to “send him into a depression” or give him “anxiety.”

“It’s just that I don’t want to trigger him, but the truth is that this fear keeps us from having real intimacy, because it keeps me from opening up to him, and I try to hold onto his feelings , and yet I’m causing more problems in our marriage by doing this.”

Phillips is the daughter of Mamas & the Papas co-founders John and Michelle Phillips, and the half-sister of Mackenzie Phillips and Bijou Phillips. Chynna and her sisters Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson form the pop music trio Wilson Phillips.

Baldwin is the brother of other actors Alex BaldwinStephen Baldwin and Daniel Baldwin. Alec previously made headlines for the fatal shooting on the set of “Rust.”
