Teddi Mellencamp is divorcing Edwin Arroyave after 13 years of marriage.

In a message posted to Instagram on Saturday, November 2, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills one alumna shared that her children were her top priority during this time of transition.

“After much care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” the reality star, 43, wrote in her statement. “My priority is my children and I am ensuring that every consideration is given to their privacy and well-being throughout this new chapter.”

“Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do,” she continued, “but in an effort to protect my family from unwarranted speculation and rumors, I felt that being open, honest and vulnerable was the best way to go.

Less than 24 hours before her announcement, Mellencamp appeared during a live taping of her. Two Ts in a Pod podcast with co-host Judge Tamra in Burbank, California. In the video, she can be seen interacting with fans before and after recording, and doesn’t talk about her personal life at all. Tamra’s husband Eddie Judge was in attendance, but Arroyave, 47, didn’t appear to be.

Mellencamp — who is the singer’s daughter John Mellencamp – previously shared that Arroyave didn’t believe in marriage when they first met.

“He came home and he had tears in his eyes, and I had never really seen him cry before,” Mellencamp said in a 2019 interview. Yahoo Lifestyle.

“And he just left a blank check on the nightstand, and he was like, ‘Hey, I just wanted to tell you I love you and I went to buy the ring today. I’m sorry .I just don’t do it.” I don’t believe in marriage and I don’t want you to break up with me. ”

“I felt like my life was being ripped away from me,” she recalls.

Arroyave, founder and CEO of Horizon Securityeventually changed his mind and finally asked her to marry him the next day, Christmas Eve.

“Your mind plays tricks on you, and at the end of the day, I knew that was the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with,” Arroyave said in the same Yahoo interview.

Mellencamp and Arroyave married in 2011 and share daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, as well as her son Cruz, 10. She is also the stepmother of Arroyave’s daughter, Isabella, 15.

Arroyave has not yet publicly commented on this split.
