MEWA raises concerns over fee reimbursement

Hyderabad: Telangana State Minority Employees Welfare Association (MEWA) has raised concerns over delay in payment of maintenance fees and reimbursement of tuition fees for minority students enrolled in private colleges. In a letter addressed to Telangana State Minorities Commission Chairman Tareq Ansari, MEWA highlighted the difficulties faced by the students due to non-payment of these funds by the state government.

“The situation is grim, university managements are asking students to pay their contributions, which goes against the objective of providing scholarships and government aid. This delay is causing immense stress for many families who rely on this support to educate their children,” said Mohammed Masooduddin Ahmed, President of MEWA. Chronicle of the Deccan.

Organizers said managements of private colleges had refused to issue certificates of completion to students, citing the expectation of payment of tuition fees. This denial hindered students’ ability to pursue higher education and pursue their career goals. MEWA urged the Minorities Commission to expedite the release of funds to alleviate these challenges.

“In many cases, students who have worked hard to graduate are held back by this problem,” Masooduddin added. “Without rapid intervention, we risk creating a cycle of frustration and lost opportunities for talented young people. »
