Excise officials conduct search at KT Rama Rao’s Orion Villas

Hyderabad: Excise and police personnel on Sunday searched a house used by BRS working president and former minister KT Rama Rao at Orion Villas in Raidurgam, as part of their investigation after finding illegal liquor at his beau’s house -brother Raj Pakala.

Rama Rao has set up his office in the villa which belongs to his brother-in-law Raj Pakala and also resides there.

Police and excise personnel searched the spot with the help of Rama Rao staff.

After receiving information about police at Rama Rao’s villa, BRS MLAs and cadres rushed to the spot and started opposing it. Police arrested BRS legislators K. Vivekanand and Palla Rajeswar Reddy along with party leader Balka Suman, Krishnak and others and shifted them to the police station.

Manne explained that Rama Rao had set up his office in a villa owned by Raj Pakala. The police searched the villa and BRS leaders assisted the police. Police returned empty-handed because there was only furniture and no substances were found, he said.

Prior to this, police and excise officials had conducted searches at the house of Sailendra Pakala, brother of Raj Pakala in connection with the incident.

At the time the police were carrying out searches, former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao called Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender and asked him to stop the searches, stating that alcohol consumption was part of of a reception involving family friends and loved ones.

Until the latest information, searches were underway at Raj Pakala’s residence at Orian Villas in Raidurgam.
