Economic Development Agency Wanganui and partners and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise are calling on businesses to have their say in improving Wanganui’s trade capabilities.

Wanganui Export practices are being developed to find the best methods to improve export capacity in the region to drive economic development.

Whanganui & Partners is inviting local businesses and those interested in overseas markets to an information evening on Thursday, November 14, where an Export Map Survey will be released. The survey offers exporters the opportunity to influence future infrastructure.

A trip to Wanganui’s sister city Toowoomba has prompted Whanganui & Partners to consider setting up air freight services.

“The activation of Wellcamp Airport has had positive ramifications for up to two hours and direct cargo flights to Asia have really amplified the export landscape,” said Colleen Ervine, strategic manager of agro -Whanganui Industry & Partners.
