Pregnant Gypsy Rose Blanchard Releases Paternity Test Results

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the now social networks and reality TV star who was released from prison in December after serving seven years for conspiring kill his mother in 2015revealed the results of a paternity test amid swirling rumors about her pregnancy.

Blanchard announced her pregnancy with her ex-fiance who became her new boyfriend Ken Urker in July, just months after her split from her husband of less than two years, Ryan Scott Anderson. Blanchard made her rekindled relationship with Urker official on social media in late April, just weeks after her mid-March breakup with Anderson.

Speculation and questions about the child’s paternity began soon after Blanchard’s pregnancy became public acquaintance, complicated by the fact that Blanchard had previously admitted to still having feelings for Urker and to having spoken to him while he was still with Anderson.

Blanchard shared a copy of results of the non-invasive prenatal paternity test on his Instagram on Tuesday, which listed Urker as the “alleged father” and showed a 99.9% probability of paternity.

“There’s been a lot of discussion surrounding the paternity of our baby and even though we’ve known for sure all along, I think it’s finally time to put all of these theories to rest,” Blanchard said in the caption. “Here are the results showing Ken is the father. Ken is going to be an incredible father and we are so excited to welcome our little girl into the world.”

From the beginning, Blanchard maintained that there was no way the baby could be anyone other than Urker’s. Although she didn’t want to resort to a prenatal paternity test just to quell the rumors, Louisiana law pushed the matter forward.

In Louisiana, the law requires it, “If the mother is married to someone other than the biological father at the time of conception of the child or if she has been divorced for less than 300 days at the time of birth, the husband/ex-husband is the presumed father, unless paternity is established for the biological father.”

Blanchard officially filed for divorce from Anderson in April, but a copy of the DNA results she shared on Instagram showed that her legal name is still listed as “Gypsy Rose Anderson.” If the divorce was still not finalized by the baby’s expected arrival in January, the prenatal paternity test would come into play, allowing Urker’s name to appear on the birth certificate.

Blanchard’s busy year since coming out: divorce, fame and pregnancy

Blanchard, perhaps the most famous victim of a suspected case of Munchausen by proxywas sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 for the murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. After serving seven of those years, she was released from Chillicothe Correctional Center Prison in Missouri on December 28, 2023.

Blanchard married Louisiana professor Ryan Anderson, 37, in a prison ceremony in July 2022 and the couple attracted attention thanks to Blanchard’s rapid rise to social media fame after his release. In March 2024, however, Blanchard announced that the two had broken up and that she was filing for divorce.

By the end of April, she was back together with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker, who she was initially engaged to in 2018 while she was still in prison. July 9, Gypsy Rose announced her pregnancy with Urker via a YouTube video titled “I’m pregnant, my journey so far“, saying she was 11 weeks due and due in January 2025.

Questions about authorship soon began to swirl, and Blanchard sat down with “Hello America” on July 12 to clarify that she had left Anderson in mid-March, which meant there was no way the baby was hers.

“It’s absolutely 100 percent Ken’s baby. There was never any question of paternity,” she said at the time. Rumors and questions continued to circulate, however, prompting Blanchard to publicly share the paternity test results on Tuesday.
