Los Angeles Rams Press Release

Westminster, Colo. — Today, four of the world’s biggest sports teams – Arsenal, Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche – join forces to launch the Green Action League, the largest fan campaign on sustainability never seen before in sport. . This collaborative tournament invites fans of European football, American football, basketball and ice hockey to compete to help their team win the title of “greenest fans”.

The tournament, powered by Ball Society and hosted on Planet League platform, takes place from November 11 to December 1, 2024 to encourage sports fans around the world to adopt greener habits. Participants earn “green points” for their sustainable activities.

“The Green Action League is interested in how small, simple actions can have a massive impact,” said Tom Gribbin, founder of Planet League. “Fans don’t need to rethink their lives; simply recycling an aluminum can, opting for a meat-free meal or picking up trash can score points and help their team lead the way in We are proud to partner with these incredible sports teams who show the world that together we can fight the climate in a fun and accessible way.

This sustainability competition is the first global partnership of its kind between Ball Corporation (NYSE: BALL) and Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE), which includes four renowned teams across three markets: Denver, Los Angeles and London. The partnership was founded on a shared vision to advance sustainability in sports and entertainment by increasing in-venue aluminum recycling, providing fans with a more environmentally friendly experience and showcasing the aluminum as a sustainable beverage packaging choice.

“We are thrilled to partner with KSE, one of the world’s leading sports ownership groups, and Planet League to encourage sports fans around the world to make more sustainable choices in their everyday actions,” said Mike Kelley, director of strategic partnership at Ball Corporation. “Building on this program with Arsenal and expanding it with the Nuggets, Avalanche and Rams is a testament to our values-driven partnership with KSE. Together, we are helping advance a world without waste.”

All Arsenal, Los Angeles Rams, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche fans can compete individually to win the title of “greenest fan” of their respective team. Additionally, fans from all four teams will compete to see which fan base can score the most “green points” over the three-week period.

Team supporters sign up on their team’s own platform and can score points by taking simple eco-friendly steps, including recycling aluminum cans, switching to plant-based meals and participating in the community waste collection. Each activity earns points and the top-performing players on each team will win exclusive prizes such as match tickets, player meet-and-greets and autographed merchandise.

The focus on aluminum packaging is critical, as it remains one of the most sustainable materials: fully circular, with 75% of all aluminum ever produced still in use today. Aluminum beverage cans go from the recycling bin to store shelves in just 60 days, making them the most recycled beverage packaging solution available.
