WASHINGTON (TNND) — Hundreds of names associated with the Department of Homeland Security emerged Thursday in support of former President Donald Trump.

The endorsement, contained in an open letter to “America,” lists 214 names described as “honorably retired career civil servants.” The letter says Trump is the only presidential candidate his supporters can trust to secure America’s borders.

Trump listened to the advice of border security “professionals” and respected their experience, according to supporters of the initiative.

“When border security experts told President Trump how illegal immigration allows cartels to control who and what comes into our country, he listened and acted,” the letter read.

The letter also asserted that the Trump administration supported policies and programs that reduced illegal immigration, established “integrity” in the U.S. immigration system, and ensured that the federal government did everything possible to control who and what was entering the country.

“The borders of the United States have never been more secure than they were under the Trump administration,” the letter continued.

Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have “markedly different backgrounds” on national security, according to supporters. That’s why voters don’t need to speculate about what candidates would do if elected, the letter said.

“On November 5, you will choose a new president to lead us. The most important factor when evaluating candidates should be ensuring the safety and security of the United States,” the letter notes. “Of the countless questions to consider, each of them depends on our national security. »

“Idealistic political appointees” from the Biden administration have been empowered to implement “disastrous” and “deadly” border security policies under Harris, according to supporters.

They wrote that the results include granting “total control” of U.S. borders to the cartels, who have made “astronomical record profits.”

Delays in immigration proceedings have also increased, while the number of people entering the United States illegally has increased, the letter said.

“We encourage every American to learn a lesson from law enforcement and simply follow the evidence of the past eight years,” supporters wrote. “The first four resulted in the most secure border in history and the other resulted in a significant increase in loss of life and record illegal immigration. »
