NEWINGTON, CT (WFSB) – Police have arrested a man involved in illegal drug transactions.

The man was identified as Joseph Finner Pouncey, 54, of Newington.

Police said the arrest stemmed from a Newington Police Department court-authorized operation Friday at the Grantmoor Motor Lodge on Berlin Tpke.

Pouncey was taken into custody and charged with the following charges: operating a drug factory, possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, failure to keep narcotics in original container, sale illegal prescription drugs and illegal possession of prescription drugs.

He was released after posting $100,000 bail and is due in court on November 29.
