All who enter here, be warned: this list is full of candy, treats, and spooky foods! (Well, they’re not all scary per se, but they’re all Ree Drummond’s favorites for this time of year.)

“I like Halloween“, exclaims Ree, “partly because of the costumes, partly because of the decorations…but mostly because of the food! “Historically in Pawhuska, trick-or-treating takes place one or two nights before October 31. Every year when the kids were little, the Drummonds would ride in the back of Ladd’s pickup truck alongside Tim, Missy and their children, they were going door to door in crowds, greeting the neighbors who were handing out candy to all the little whippersnappers. I love candy or treats. our little town“, says Ree. “It’s such a community-wide effort.” Today, The merchant (which accidentally opened its doors on Halloween) hosts an annual festival of pumpkin painting, balloon art, and all kinds of delicious treats.

Ree’s cinnamon rolls are legendary. Yet in all her years of trying different versions, she admittedly never thought about adding pumpkin pie spice until her “life changed forever” with this recipe. “The color is beautiful,” she says, adding that “the pumpkin and spice flavors really pop without being totally overwhelming.”
