JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — It’s that time of year when you’ll find out how much you’ll owe the state of Missouri.

2024 tax statements are being mailed across the state and, in many cases, are already in the hands of homeowners. In Jasper County this year, that includes a first insert detailing the process for applying for a new tax credit for seniors.

Homeowners 62 and older can apply for the program, which would essentially freeze property taxes at 2024 levels.

“The law requires you to provide proof of certain things. So there needs to be an application process. This will begin on January 20, 2025 and continue until May 31, 2025,” said Jasper Co Collector Steven McIntosh.

You can pay your 2024 Missouri property taxes in person or by mail, and for counties with a digital option, online. The deadline is December 31.
