“I learned to negotiate even better than ever,” Stewart told the The Wall Street Journalwhen asked about the lessons she gleaned from rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg.

The two men struck up a friendship and business partnership at 2008when Snoop appeared on Stewart’s cooking show. Later, the duo reunited again for the Comedy Central roast of Justin Bieber.

“At that point, Martha hadn’t been on the air for a few years,” said Meg James, a reporter at Los Angeles Times said in the Netflix docuseries Martha. “Culturally, she had become pretty irrelevant,” she added of Stewart’s reputation in 2015, again in the wake of an insider trading scandal.
