Guilty plea entered in 23rd Judicial District Court October 14-18

DONALDSONVILLE, La. (WAFB) – The 23rd Judicial District Court announced the following guilty pleas entered during the week of October 14-18, 2024:

ASCENSION PARISH

1. Katrina Butler, Baton Rouge, LA, 43, pleaded guilty to theft valued at $1,000 or more, but less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended, and placed on supervised probation for 3 years.

2. Jeremy Johnson, Prairieville, LA, 43, pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and was sentenced to 3 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on supervised probation for 3 years. .

3. Pablo Veloquio, Pryor, OK, 44, pleaded guilty to DWI 4 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served. It was ordered that 2 years of the said sentence be served and the remaining 8 years be suspended. Upon release from prison, the defendant must be placed on supervised probation for 5 years.

4. Bobby Duncan, Baton Rouge, LA, 22, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, theft of a firearm and simple burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 6 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.

5. Charles Jones, St. Amant, LA, 41, pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and simple burglary (2 counts). The defendant was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended, and placed on supervised probation for 3 years.

6. Michael Jones, Gonzales, LA, 27, pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and attempted simple burglary. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.

7. Roy Sellers, Darrow, LA, 34, pleaded guilty to DWI 3rd offense and operating a vehicle while license suspended/revoked/cancelled. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served. It was ordered that one year of the said sentence be served and the remaining four years be suspended. Upon release from prison, the defendant must be placed on supervised probation for 4 years.

8. Sean Evans, Gonzales, LA, 55, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and unlawful carrying and discharging of weapons. The defendant was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served.

9. Davante Jones, Prairieville, LA, 31, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and non-consensual disclosure of a private image. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and placed on supervised probation for 5 years.

10. Jalil Williams, New Orleans, LA, 27, pleaded guilty to motor vehicle theft (2 counts) and was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for the time served, to be suspended and placed in prison. 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phillip Prescott, and these cases were presided over by the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.

11. Michael Dunn, Geismar, LA, 35, pleaded no contest to unlawful possession of a weapon (2 counts), possession of a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance, and possession of a dangerous substance controlled in Annex II. The defendant was sentenced to 14 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections, with credit for time served, suspended and placed on supervised probation for 3 years.

12. Bryant Guidry, Geismar, LA, 40, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of stolen things (2 counts) and was sentenced to 1 year in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served , to be suspended and placed at 1 year. one year supervised probation.

13. Michael Littlejohn, Baton Rouge, LA, 42, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of stolen property valued at $25,000 or more and unlawful possession of stolen property valued at $5,000 or more more. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, suspended and placed on supervised probation for 3 years.

14. Misty Leach, Baton Rouge, LA, 41, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of stolen property valued at $5,000 or more and was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed. with 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Phil Maples and Brant Mayer. The Honorable Judge Cody Martin presided over these cases.

ASSUMPTION PARISH

1. Robert Rainey, Labadieville, LA, 39, pleaded guilty to 2nd degree battery and was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and committed on supervised probation for 5 years.

2. Charon Bougere, Thibodaux, LA, 40, pleaded guilty to aggravated flight from an officer and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and the Honorable Judge John Smith presided over these cases.
