ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Chicago Rockford International Airport is hosting a pop-up event to help residents get their REAL ID before the federal deadline.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 8 at 6 Airport Drive in Rockford.

The pop-up also offers renewal of driver’s licenses and vehicle registrations.

The federal deadline for residents to obtain the REAL ID is May 7, 2025. Starting on this date, a REAL ID will be required to board domestic flights or enter federal buildings.

The Office of the Secretary of State offers an interactive platform check-list for customers to ensure they bring the correct documentation.

Required documents include:

• U.S. birth certificate, U.S. passport, certificate of naturalization, report of foreign birth, or certificate of citizenship
• Proof of a full social security number
• Two current residency documents showing your full name
• Proof of your signature
