Oklahoma school chief cites Harris ‘mass chaos’ in requesting more than $474 million

Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters endorsed Vice President Kamala HarrisThe country’s leaders on the border have eased the burden of illegal immigration to school districts.

Walters demanded that the Biden-Harris administration reimburse more than $474 million to Oklahoma schools for “the financial impact borne by Oklahoma taxpayers for the education of illegal immigrant children. The letter, released Tuesday, comes as Walters calls Harris “the number one threat to parents and children” in the United States.

“This open border policy has cost our state $474 million to educate illegal immigrant children,” Walters said on Fox News. Fox and friends First of all. “We have fentanyl flowing into our schools, and we even had a terrorist who was intercepted as part of our open border policy and arrested at one of our schools. Its open border is causing massive chaos in our schools, in our economy and in our society. We never had these problems under President Trump. We have never had these problems in our schools and in our society. We had a closed border, safer schools, a secure border. It is absolutely essential that his administration be held accountable. The border czar has failed us.

Walters’ comment on Harris as ‘border czar’ comes after the Republican-controlled House of Representatives in July passed a messaging bill condemning both the vice president and the Biden administration . border security management. Senator JD Vance (R-OH), former President that of Donald Trump vice-presidential candidate for 2024, has sought to present himself as the new border tsar if he and Trump win.

Oklahoma’s superintendent explained that the federal government mandates school districts to educate all children who will attend their school, whether they are legal immigrants or not. As such, schools are required to “rapidly” allocate resources initially intended for students already enrolled, with one district even receiving “100 per week” of illegal immigrants attending its district.

“So all the resources that were there, prepared for our students in Oklahoma, are now being diverted to illegal immigrant students,” Walters said.

The superintendent’s letter is not the first time Walters has clashed with the Biden administration, as he ordered all of his local school districts not to comply with the rewriting by the administration of Title IX because it puts “women in danger”. He also has called for a ‘complete overhaul’ of Oklahoma’s school curriculum with the goal of “inspiring in students a love of country and a sound understanding of the American founding.”

Illegal immigration is a major topic as the 2024 presidential election approaches, including whether non-U.S. residents can vote. On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to allow Virginia to carry out a purge of about 1,600 people on its voter rolls to prevent ineligible noncitizens from voting, a move that Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) deemed “a victory for common sense and electoral fairness.”
