Marayong: Desperate search for missing woman after house fire in Sydney’s western suburbs

Emergency services are hoping to find a missing woman after a fire ripped through a property in Sydney’s western suburbs on Wednesday night.

Police are appealing for information to find the woman who was reported missing after the fire in Percy Street, Marayong.

Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW were called to the scene around 10.30pm before putting out the blaze, with the house sustaining minor damage.

Officers from Riverstone Police Regional Command were advised that two occupants were not present in the home at the time; however, a 38-year-old woman is missing.

After firefighters’ search of the home failed to locate the woman, officers from Riverstone Police Regional Command launched a search of the surrounding area, with the help of PolAir, but she has not yet been found. been found.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have seen the missing woman, described as white, 167cm tall, weighing 85kg, of large build, with light complexion and black hair.

She was last seen at home two or three days ago and it is unclear what she is wearing. Police were told the woman may have appeared upset or confused.

Firefighters told police that initial investigations indicated the fire was not suspicious.

Crime scene officers and fire investigators are expected to examine the scene on Thursday.
