BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers post four-word response following unexpected result | Television and radio | Showbiz and television

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left disappointed on Sunday night, as the competition heated up with the final in sight.

Despite a commendable score of 35 and fourth place on the leaderboard, Montell Douglas was surprisingly pitted against Wynne Evans in the dreaded dance.

The Gladiator star once again graced the floor of the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, performing her salsa to Thelma Houston’s Don’t Leave Me This Way alongside professional partner Johannes Radebe.

Wynne, partnered with Katya Jones, scored 31 for their Charleston, narrowly avoiding last place on the leaderboard, but had to repeat her performance in the dance.

When decision time arrived, the judges voted unanimously to save Montell, thus concluding Wynne’s Strictly journey, reports the mirror.

Viewers weren’t shy about sharing their opinions on Montell’s unexpected appearance at the dance party, despite the judges’ high marks.

One viewer expressed: “Montell is a fabulous dancer. She should never go to a ball.”

Another expressed their frustration by commenting: “Ffs! Underlined and another 2 at the bottom. Montell doesn’t deserve this.”

“Parody. Montell shouldn’t be in the bottom two,” exclaimed another dismayed fan.

Another added: “Maybe it wasn’t Montell’s strongest dance, but she and Johannes definitely don’t deserve to be in the dance.”

One viewer took to Twitter, expressing disbelief, adding: “What?! Why don’t people support Montell and JoJo? They deliver every week and never disappoint. Last night’s routine 100% n Shouldn’t have put them in the bottom at all.

Another chimed in: “Sad that Montell is in the dance again. I think she could easily be a finalist.”

On leaving the show, Wynne said: “It’s been wonderful, I have to say. I feel like that’s what Strictly is.

“If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then everyone can go out and dance and have a brilliant time. Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everyone here in this room and at home to take care of it for generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

Katya echoed his sentiments, saying, “To be honest with you, the smile hasn’t left my face since the first day of our training, since the day we teamed up. You (Wynne) made this experience so joyful and so full of laughter for me.

“I’m sure everyone was jealous because you’re the type of guy everyone wants in their life. You bring light, you bring laughter, you bring charisma, you fill every room you’re in enter with these qualities.”

Strictly Come Dance continues during the week BBC One from 7:05 p.m.
