The Saints are finished after their last crumble in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — Put a fork in the Saints, because they’re done. Drastic changes are needed for the team right now after their last collapse. This season is essentially over for them after losing their seventh straight game, and they were one of the worst teams in the league. Today, New Orleans seems to have won the crown of being one of the worst teams in the league.

Of course, there are still games on the Saints schedule. Sure, they could hypothetically go into a run and mathematically come back, but not this team. This The team is broken and it’s time to get hard evidence of liability in the building. This is the first time since 1999 that the Saints have had a 7-game losing streak. We have entered the Dark Ages.

“I’m hurting right now,” Allen said in his opening statement after the loss. “I’m hurting for our city, I’m hurting for our organization, I’m hurting for the guys in this locker room.”

Allen’s job is in danger, whether the Saints want to admit it or not. You can no longer sell this product. It’s flat. It’s broken. It’s seriously flawed. It just doesn’t work. There are a lot more negatives than positives in the way things are currently going in New Orleans. This team is defeated, and just look at what Cam Jordan said follow the match on his Twitter/X.

“We just lost to the Panthers…I love you, New Orleans really had higher expectations and better hopes for us, you all deserve it.”

I wrote very recently that it’s time to stop wasting these veterans’ time. Alvin Kamara, who just had 215 total yards, doesn’t deserve to be called a loser. The Saints aren’t in a competitive mode at this point, and honestly, last year’s result was pretty much fool’s gold. New Orleans beat Carolina, nearly doubling its offensive output. They won the turnover battle and held the ball for almost 9 more minutes. They continually find new ways to lose games. This is no coincidence. It’s a theme. It’s an epidemic.

If you need further proof, look here. They broke a streak of teams going 275-0 previously.

The next 24 hours will be very telling for the Saints, and the ball is in their court. This cannot be considered a rash decision, as losses continued to occur regardless of changes or what was said. As Allen said: “It’s certainly frustrating. I felt like we let some opportunities slip away early on.” He then added that injuries had been a factor in the last five games, but that was the nature of the league.

The nature of the league is that business results aren’t where they should be, and that could mean the Saints front office may not have much of a choice but to end Allen’s stay in New Orleans.
