Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri, Head of the International Affairs Office of the UAE Presidential Court, announced that the UAE is developing the world’s first ChatGPT tool for the agricultural community.

The announcement took place today at the UAE Pavilion at COP29, which hosted a series of exciting events focused on the transformative role of technology, collaboration and data in accelerating decarbonization and driving the world’s energy transition, in particular through agricultural innovation and the development of hydrogen.

In a session titled “Partnering to Create AI-Driven Public Goods for Over 1 Billion Smallholders,” Almheiri’s announcement that the UAE is developing the world’s first ChatGPT tool for the agricultural community was applauded by everyone present. Already called “CHAG” (for Chat + Ag) and fully accessible, it will draw on over 50 years of research data and has followed the UAE’s exponential curve in the AI ​​revolution; the world is seeing how the UAE has the capacity and knowledge to develop extended language models like this.

During the session with AIM for Scale, part of the UAE-Gates Foundation partnership, Almheiri, who is also a member of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, joined a panel, including the Gates Foundation, to discuss how farmers are equipped with a vital tool. tool to make informed decisions about when to harvest and plant seeds, and to adapt to volatile weather conditions. “Instead of providing general forecasts, we translate all of this into something actionable for farmers through the power of AI,” said Celeste Saulo, secretary general of the World Meteorological Organization.
