Ricky Gervais refuses to go to the doctor as he admits health row with partner Jane | Celebrity News | Showbiz and television

The Office legend Ricky Gervais, 63, admitted that while he knows how to maintain his health as he ages, he often lacks the motivation to put in the necessary effort. This attitude frustrates his partner, Jane Fallon.

During a chat with Romesh Ranganathan, 46, on BBC Radio 2 this morning, the comedian opened up about his health. When Romesh asked him, “How’s life with you?” Ricky replied with a laugh: “Well, well good for 63, you know what I mean. » The host then wondered if Ricky had tried biohacking to slow down aging.

Ricky admitted: “Well, not really, I’ve never cared too much about health. I like to stay active, I’m vegan which helps.”

The After Life star added: “But it’s not enough – there’s this great documentary called Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones – and this guy found out there are these places in the world where people regularly live to be 95 – and that’s what their lifestyle is.

“It’s because they’re vegan, they’re active – they don’t go to the gym, they don’t go jogging – they garden all the time and bake their own bread. So I kind of know sort the rules, but I can’t be bothered.

Ricky, who is currently on his Mortality stand-up tour, admitted to Romesh that he tends to rely on his girlfriend Jane to assess his health issues, which can lead to disagreements.

Gervais humorously shared his health routine by admitting: “I don’t even go to the doctor!

“I’m just going to Jane, ‘what is it?’ And she says: ‘go to the doctor’, then I leave, ‘so I’m going to die then? Just say: no, it’s nothing!’, ‘I’m not a doctor’, ‘Okay!'”

He then joked about his potential hypochondria, saying, “So, I’m afraid… If I had a little doctor in the basement, I’d be asking myself every day, ‘What is that? what is this ?'”

His banter with fellow comedian Romesh continued, as the host joked: “What job, by the way, ‘what do you do?’, ‘Oh, I’m Ricky Gervais’ basement doctor.’

Ricky then added a cheeky remark: “You’d be taking a lot of gloves – that’s all I’m going to say!”
