Elon Musk worked illegally in the US early in his career: report

Elon Musk has a lot to say on social media about immigration, migrant crime, and lies about Democrats using illegal immigrants to vote. What he didn’t say publicly, according to The Washington Postis that Musk, himself an immigrant, worked illegally in the United States early in his career.

Musk, the world’s richest person, was born in South Africa and left his home country after graduating at age 17 to attend university in Canada. According to The Post, he arrived in Palo Alto in 1995 to attend a graduate program at Stanford University, but he never enrolled in classes.

Instead, he worked on his first startup, Zip2, which he sold in 1999 for about $300 million. Zip2 paved the way for Tesla and the other companies that made Musk the richest person on the planet.

Leon Fresco, a former Justice Department immigration lawyer, said foreign students are not allowed to drop out of school to start a business, “even if they don’t get paid immediately.”

“If you’re doing something that helps facilitate revenue generation, like design code or trying to make sales in an effort to generate revenue, then you’re in trouble,” Fresco told the Post.

Musk, 53, has increasingly used X, the social networking site he owns, to amplify unfounded immigration applicationsnotably that the Democrats “import” migrants into the country to vote and that Haitian Migrants in Ohio Kill and Eat Pets.

According to BloombergMusk posts more about immigration and election fraud than any other topic on X, where he has more than 200 million followers.

In February, Musk, who invested more than $100 million in Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, Musk’s associates said he frequently drove when he was not legally in the United States — he would have had to have a driver’s license and insurance to do so, the Post pointed out. out.

Musk’s brother Kimbal has repeatedly admitted that he and Elon were working in the United States without proper authorization.
