Bella Hadid Mixes Messy Jane Birkin Bangs With Royal 2000s Vintage

She tried out the Office Siren look earlier this year, and now Bella Hadid has just revealed her “sexy librarian bangs.” But instead of pairing her new bangs with something bookish on the bottom, she opted for something classically Bella: carefully curated vintage.

Bella attended the launch party for Chopard’s new ‘Ice Cube’ collection in Dubai earlier this week. The model looked like a fashion queen in an embellished couture gown from the Elie Saab Spring 2004 show. Bella’s vintage find was lit up with silver sequins and whimsical chiffon strips cascading over her shoulders. The model naturally accentuated the plunging neckline and steep slit of her dress with Chopard jewelry.

Of course, Bella and her stylist Molly Dickson didn’t just settle for a pre-loved outfit to wear during the model’s stay in Dubai. For a second appearance at Chopard, Bella donned a sleek and chic Thierry Mugler look that dates back to the 1980s. The model buttoned her shirt dress all the way to the top and even nodded to her recent embrace of Western style in cinching her waist with a thick, statement belt.

It appears Hadid cut bangs from her hair after taking a quick trip to New York City last weekend. In the Big Apple, Hadid was spotted wearing vintage Chloé pants, a Valentino tote bag, and tousled model hair—sans bangs, of course.

Chops like Bella’s wispy bangs, which she achieved with the help of hairstylist Syd Hayes, are all the rage. Look no further than Sabrina Carpenter’s blonde bangs, Daisy Edgar-Jones’ messy bangs, or even Jennifer Lopez’s new 70s hair. They’re partly derived from the ’70s and ’80s, when stars like Jane Birkin and Cher all wore messy layers to frame the face. Perhaps that’s why Bella decided to show off her nostalgia-inspired cut with nostalgia-inspired fashion.
