SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah — Students and staff at a Saratoga Springs school were briefly evacuated after what was described as an odor coming from a ceiling fan Thursday.

The evacuation of Lake Mountain Middle School began before 11 a.m. after an order due to an unidentified odor, according to the Alpine School District.

Saratoga Springs Fire and Rescue crews responded and discovered the source of the odor was a ceiling fan in a science classroom.

Students were allowed to return to the school once the building was cleared.

The district added that all students were safe during the evacuation and the school is now on a modified schedule.
