Former superstar accuses Cowboys of disrespecting Ezekiel Elliott

Ezekiel Elliott was left behind when the Dallas Cowboys traveled to Atlanta to face the Falcons in Week 9. It was reported that he was passed over due to a lack of production, but rather for disciplinary reasons.

Jane Slater reported that Elliott missed several team meetings and was usually late for practices. One former player was outraged that these issues were even reported.

Dez Bryant, who played in Dallas from 2010 to 2017, says much worse things happen and are never reported.

From there, he said the team was disrespecting his former teammate, who is two touchdowns away from passing Tony Dorsett for second place in team history.

It’s no surprise that Bryant would call out Elliott’s discipline for being late, as it’s something he was called out for upon entering the NFL. Jerry Jones I laughed at the delay then, showing that he has always made excuses for players who have exceptional talent.

That being said, Bryant is surely right that much worse happens to others. The problem with Elliott is that his play no longer justifies diva behavior. This is why the Cowboys finally drew a line in the sand.

So maybe in the end, they’re showing Elliott some respect. Rather than admit he’s not good enough to play for them, they pretend it’s all about him being there.
