MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) – Wednesday evening, Marquette County residents gathered at a local brewery to play bingo for a good cause.

The Exchange Club of Marquette County hosted a bingo night at Barrel and Beam to raise money for the Northern Lights Child Advocacy Center. The money raised will be used to fund essential items and resources for the center.

Sarah Zyburt, executive director of the Northern Lights Child Advocacy Center, said these events are vital.

“Events like this are truly vital to our center because they help raise awareness of our services and the immense needs that exist in our communities. It’s not easy or fun to talk about child abuse, but it happens whether we talk about it or not,” Zyburt said.

Organizers hope to be able to plan another bingo night in the winter.
