However, she also hosted her own Swiftie convention and charged guests extra on top of hotel fees, promising them a fun Taylor-Swift-themed weekend. Soon after, participants began sharing their experience on social media, claiming that Fox had failed to deliver on its promises.

Complaints against Rebecca Fox

Many fans have spoken out about their horrific experiences on social media, including a TikToker with the username “jump4js” who created a five-part series around it. Rebecca Fox was responsible for a private Facebook group of fans staying at the hotel, where she allegedly behaved rudely to guests.

“She was threatening to kick people out of the group, she was threatening to cancel their hotel rooms” if people wanted to attend outdoor events in the city, the content creator said.

If fans wanted to not attend its events or stay in their rooms, Fox required that they provide their concert tickets before issuing a refund. Given that concert tickets started from $1,200, guests weren’t even sure how this could be considered comparable to the venue.

Rebecca Fox’s failed event compared to Fyre Festival 2017

Reports compared Rebecca Fox’s failed event to the infamous 2017 Fyre Festival, which led to its organizer Billy McFarland spending almost four years in prison.

According to Sky News, guests were charged thousands of dollars at the time for what was billed as a party aimed at a young and elite audience on the island of Great Exuma, in the Bahamas. The reality was far from that, as they arrived to relief tents and soggy food.

Images of stranded festival-goers surfaced, turning the event into a viral disaster and leading to several lawsuits and criminal investigations against McFarland.

Statement from Rebecca Fox on the issue

Rebecca Fox spoke with NOLA.com on the subject and claimed that she was unable to share details of the event because her lawyer was not present in the United States.

“My lawyer has been out of the country for two weeks. While I want to be transparent and share some things that people don’t know, I have to follow his advice and wait to make an official statement until he returns.”

She insisted her actions had no “malicious intent” and acknowledged her flaws, saying: “I know I failed. I admitted that I had failed.
