Obscure Victorian novel sparked conspiracy theories about time-traveling Trump

A series of obscure Victorian novels has the internet talking about their eerie parallels with Donald Trumpaccession to power.

“Little Baron Trump”, a wealthy and aristocratic young man who lives in Castle Trump, is the protagonist of a series of children’s books written by American lawyer and novelist Ingersoll Lockwood in the late 19th century.

The young boy, who shares the name of the president-elect’s youngest son, is said to have a vivid imagination and “a very active brain” which has seen him grow bored of the life of luxury to which he has become accustomed.

To cure his boredom, young Trump takes a trip to Russia for a life-changing adventure.

But the similarities don’t end there. Along the way, Baron Trump is mentored by a mysterious figure known as the “Master of Masters” who reveals a portal that allows him to travel to other worlds. The man’s full name is Don Constantino Bartolomeo Strepholofidgeguaneriusfum… but everyone just calls him “Don.”

Before setting off on his journey into the unknown, Trump learned his family’s motto: “The path to glory is strewn with pitfalls and dangers.”

Baron Trump has starred in at least two novels. The travels and adventures of little Baron Trump and his wonderful dog Bulgar and the wonderful underground journey of Baron Trump – both have been archived by the United States Library of Congress and can be read online for free.

But it’s Lockwood’s latest novel, a political thriller called “The Last President,” that has raised the most eyebrows.

Although The Last President does not feature the character of Baron Trump, it nevertheless presents a number of eerie parallels with the former and current President of the United States.

The book begins in New York, which is up in arms after a political outsider is unexpectedly elected president. The news causes a stir in the “upper districts” of the city, which become “paralyzed by a nameless terror”.

“Large crowds are organizing under the leadership of anarchists and socialists and threatening to loot and rob the homes of the rich who have wronged and oppressed them for so many years,” reads a first passage from the book.

“The Fifth Avenue hotel will be the first to feel the fury of the mob,” the novel continues, name-checking the same New York street where Trump Tower stands today. “Would the troops be in time to save him?

Although long out of print and lost to time, the books were rediscovered in 2017 and dissected, sparking a conspiracy theory that Baron Trump featured in the novels is a time traveler who passed through a portal to the present day .

To add fuel to the fire, there is a theory that the Trump family has had access to time travel for many years, thanks to the president’s uncle, engineer John Trump.

John Trump allegedly had access to the papers of Nikola Tesla, who it is theorized was researching time travel – and whose knowledge helped Trump win the 2016 presidential election.

What the conspiracy doesn’t take into account however are the giant turtles, alternate dimensions and strange interdimensional beings also found in the books, which either throws cold water on the time travel theory or raises a whole series of additional questions.

Meanwhile, filmmaker and Trump supporter Leigh Scott attempted to raise funds to create a fantasy feature film about the books in order to “troll the entire media.”

“Even though I work in Hollywood, I support President Trump,” Scott said in a promotional video for his project. “The book has tons of weird references to modern times, but we can actually amplify that a little bit and put things in there that only we, as Trump supporters and people who are on the internet all the time, understand and appreciate Really.”

“I’m a big fan of trolling, and making this film is the biggest opportunity we have to troll the entire media,” he adds. “To do something so bizarre, so professional and so unique that you can’t deny its existence.”
