Survey Finds 60% of Americans Likely Not to Get Up-to-Date COVID-19 Vaccine

WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) – A majority of Americans said they would “probably not” get an “updated vaccine” against COVID-19, according to the Pew Research Center survey.

These findings come as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised people over 65 or immunocompromised to consider a second dose of the latest vaccine.

The survey was conducted October 21-27 among nearly 9,600 participants in the United States.

While 60 percent of individuals do not plan to receive the updated vaccine, about 25 percent said they would likely receive a booster and 15 percent confirmed they had already taken the latest vaccine.

Among those not likely to receive a vaccine booster, about 60 percent said they did not receive it because they were worried about possible side effects, 61 percent said they did not ‘didn’t need it and 5 percent said they were worried about possible side effects. the cost.
