Venom: The Last Dance is Sony’s conclusion Venom trilogy, clearly separating Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock from his beloved Parasite, but leaving the door open for Venom’s return.

What happens at the end of “Venom 3: The Last Dance”?

THE Venom The trilogy played its best antagonist card at the start with Carnage, so The last dance features less slimy villains known as “xenophages”, as well as the world-conquering Thanos-like enemy known as “Knull”, creator of the symbiotes.

The final scene sees Eddie and Venom chased by the Xenophages into Area 51, where the government has tinkered with the symbiotes to create weapons. Eddie and Venom free the trapped symbiotes, then are overwhelmed by a pack of xenophages, capable of swallowing symbiotes like jelly.

After being overwhelmed by the creatures, Venom separates from Eddie’s body and absorbs each xenophage, before placing himself under a powerful acid nozzle and taking a deadly shower, sacrificing himself to destroy the xenophages and save his best friend.

Venom’s body is completely dissolved by the acid, but another symbiote remains: Agony, the purple, twisty-haired speedster who latched onto Juno Temple’s Dr. Payne.

Eddie, finally estranged from his friend, mourns the loss of Venom and goes to New York to remember the good times they shared. Interestingly, this is Spider-Man territory, but it’s unclear if the web-slinger will ever appear in the Venom-verse.

As for Venom and Eddie, the two definitely seem estranged, as both Tom Hardy and director Kelly Marcel have insisted that this is truly Venom’s last dance.

However, this is a comic book movie and Venom is a very popular character; thus, his death is probably temporary.

Does Venom die in “Venom 3: The Last Dance”?

As Venom is doused in acid, he bids Eddie farewell, but notably, he says, “goodbye for now”, which is a callback to an earlier moment in the film and a clear indication that the character will come back.

Venom can survive as long as a drop of symbiote slime remains, and splatters of Venom are still scattered across the multiverse. A piece of Venom was left in the MCU after Spider-Man: No Way Homeand another drop was left in a bar in Mexico during the events of The last dance.

However, those droplets might not even matter: This is a comic book franchise, and Venom can be resurrected using time travel, science, or magic.

Are the Sinister Six still happening?

The Sinister Six, essentially Sony’s Avengers Spiderman villain-verse – has been trying to get off the ground for several years.

With the threat of the powerful villain Knull, teased during The last dance post-credits scene, it seems the groundwork is being laid for a future team-up film.

Sony assembled its own cinematic universe, which is loosely connected to the MCU, and the animated film Spider worms, but only occasionally overlaps with these franchises.

The next entry in this franchise is Kraven the Hunterwhich will arrive on December 13, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Given that previous installments include the very memorable Morbius And Madame Weba Sinister Six movie might be a little ambitious. However, Venom turned out to be a surprisingly successful trilogy, even if The last dance has slipped somewhat.

Venom thrived without its iconic adversary, Spider-Man, and much of its success can be attributed to Tom Hardy, who gave an incredible, bizarre performance as Eddie Brock and a memorable voice for Venom.

If Sony’s cinematic universe is to continue, Venom will surely be there.
