  • Open Outlook and let the emails sync.
  • Click the settings icon at the top right next to the tips icon.
  • Go to Mail > Message Management > Action Confirmations.
  • Uncheck the box under “When I move, delete or archive a message“, which displays the box confirming the action.

Cache is one of the main reasons why you may receive notifications for old or deleted emails. To fix this problem, you can clear Outlook cache and check if you are still facing the same problem.

  • Press Windows key + R to start RUN.
  • Copy and paste and press Enter: %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook
  • Here you will see the RoamCache folder – open it.
  • Then press CTRL+A to select all files and DELETE them.
  • Once deleted, open Outlook and see if the problem is resolved.

Another problem is email synchronization. To resolve this issue, you can log out of the messaging app and then log back in to force sync.

  • First, open the Outlook application on your desktop.
  • Go to Settings > Email accounts.

  • Once deleted, log back into the email app using your email account and check if you are still experiencing the same issue.

The problem could also be caused by an outdated email application or corrupted files. To resolve this issue, you can try updating the Mail app by going to the Microsoft Store and searching for Outlook. If after updating the app you still experience the same problem, uninstall it.

  • Press Windows key + I to open the settings.
  • Go to Applications > Installed applications.
  • Find the Outlook app > click the three-dot icon and select Uninstall.
  • Once uninstalled, go to Windows Store, search for Outlook and download it again.
  • After installation, you need to log in to the Outlook application again.

You can use third-party email clients and uninstall Outlook if nothing works. Many different email clients are available and work with all kinds of email providers, such as Outlook, Gmail, AOL, etc. Some notable names are Blue Mail, WunderMail and Canary Email.
