In November 2024, a claim shared on social media claimed that Grammy Award winner Rihanna would reveal a new song if Democratic candidate for President of the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris, won the presidential election of 2024.

A user replied“Is there an end to their narcissism?” Another said“I almost broke down. You whore”, to which the original poster replied“We have to secure victory one way or another.”

Indeed, the original message came from the @headnavy account, a Rihanna fan account, which confirmed via several posts in the discussion thread that the message was a joke. The account name refers to the “Rihanna Navy”, a term often used to refer to his most unconditional fans.

While no credible media announced that Rihanna would be releasing a new song while awaiting the election results, the artist made headlines with an election-related Instagram post.

Rihanna is a citizen of Barbados and is not eligible to vote in the US elections, but she has used her platform to encourage her fans to vote using the hashtag “#votecauseicant.”

On November 4, 2024, Rihanna posted a Instagram Reel which jokingly said: “POV: I’m trying to sneak into the polling stations with my son’s passport” with an accompanying message saying: “when to protect p****** and fire p*** ***can occur in a single vote”.

While Rihanna remained active in her comments following the post, unfortunately it was mainly to respond to trolls. There was no suggestions for new music related to the election outcome.
