Cryptocurrency markets are bracing for Bitcoin to make history by hitting the $100,000 ($153,567) level as early as this weekend, as traders position themselves for more favorable regulation under the leadership of President-elect Donald Trump.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency topped $99,000 for the first time before returning to $98,546 on Friday morning, according to CoinDesk. Bitcoin has gained more than 40% since Trump won the election on November 5, while the broader crypto market has added nearly $1 trillion.
