LANCASTER COUNTY, PA (WHP) — After a woman was fatally stabbed in Lancaster County, the victim’s family launched a GoFundMe campaign to receive donations for funeral expenses.

East Hempfield Police report that Carmen Martinez-Silva was found with multiple stab wounds at a residence in the 2900 block of Dell Lane. Martinez-Silva was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS after life-saving treatment was administered.

Authorities say Benjamin Garcia-Gual was charged with several crimes, including homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated assault, after police found him sitting in his car with a kitchen knife in money.

Police documents say the attack began after Garcia-Gual threatened to stab Martinez-Silva for getting a haircut.

Martinez-Silva’s family released a statement alongside the donation drive, saying how devastated their family is after an “unimaginable tragedy.”
