Will fans go see Wicked and Gladiator II? What Paul Mescal has to say about Wickediator

It has become exceptionally rare for multiple major films to be released on the same weekend. No studio wants to split its potential box office revenue, which is why a lot of work goes into building a release schedule where each weekend has a major release, but no weekend has more than one. And yet, it happens, like this weekend with Wicked: Part One and Gladiator II.

Last year we had the famous script by Barbenheimer when both Greta Gerwig‘s barbie and that of Christopher Nolan Oppenheimer were released the same day. This year we have Wickediator, or Glicked, depending on your preference. For his part, Gladiator II the star Paul Mescal thinks that like barbie And Oppenheimerboth films can be successful because they are largely aimed at different audiences. Talk to Variety Mescal said…

I think they complement each other very well because they are so different. And if you love cinema, go ahead and support it. Don’t wait for it to stream, because we’re at a critical crossroads. We’ve been in the movie business for a while now. If you are interested in cinema, go out and see both films.
