Revanth Reddy was in Mumbai on Saturday morning to take part in the ongoing Congress campaign for the Maharashtra assembly elections. He participated in the meeting organized by Maharashtra Congress leaders to discuss election campaign strategy, sources close to the matter said.

Later addressing a press conference, Revanth Reddy highlighted that his government had launched a comprehensive inquiry into caste in Telangana. “My government has passed a cabinet resolution demanding that the NDA government at the Center undertake a caste census across the country,” he said.

He added that Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi had also reiterated the demand for a nationwide caste census on various platforms. “Let the Center include the caste census as part of the national population census from January,” he said.

The chief minister said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Maharashtra had spread aspersions against the Congress government in Telangana that it had failed to implement the six guarantees promised to the people before the elections .

“Even the Prime Minister lied to people about the implementation of the guarantees announced by the Telangana Congress. We will continue to tell the truth until Modi stops spreading lies. This is the reason why I came to Maharashtra to inform people about the truth about the implementation of the six guarantees in Telangana,” he said.

Revanth Reddy recalled that the Congress had promised farm loan waiver till 2 lakh in his state. “In nine months, we have waived agricultural loans to the tune of 17,869 crore by relieving 2.23 million farmers of debt burden in 25 days. My government is ready to provide the details of the implementation of the agricultural loan waiver program if anyone wishes,” he said.

He added that when he responded appropriately to Modi’s criticism on the farmers’ issue, the latter deleted his tweet on Telangana.

The chief minister also claimed that his government had filled 50,000 vacancies within 10 months of Congress coming to power, distributed cooking gas cylinders to 500 under the Mahalakshmi scheme and provided free domestic power supply to 5 million households consuming less than 200 units.

“We also offer a bonus of 500 on the minimum support price of paddy and have introduced free bus ride for women,” he said.

Stating that Maharashtra was lagging behind in terms of farmer welfare compared to Telangana, Revanth Reddy alleged that the highest number of farmer suicides were reported in Maharashtra as the state and central government neglected the welfare of farmers.

“Maharashtra has achieved a special place in the history of the country. The country of Maharashtra has given birth to many great popular leaders including Dr. BR Ambedkar, Bala Gangadhar Tilak, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule, who changed the destiny of the country, inspired people and showed the way to the country,” he declared. .

Referring to the ongoing election campaign in Maharashtra, Revanth Reddy said Modi did not promise anything new to inform the people of Maharashtra during the campaign. “As he has no success story related to Maharashtra, he is blaming opposition parties,” Revanth Reddy said.
